The Maria Naomi Workshop

Established in 2014, the Maria Naomi Workshop started with a bold vision to provide dignified employment for women in Southern Romania. Created to address the lack of opportunities in rural villages, the workshop equips women with practical skills and a steady income, all while sharing the hope of the Gospel. This initiative ensures that artisans stay close to their families while working in a supportive and uplifting environment.

Artisans at the workshop receive hands-on training in sewing techniques, machine operations, and essential business skills such as order processing, production flow, and inventory management. Beyond technical expertise, the workshop fosters spiritual and personal growth through daily encouragement, prayer, and Bible study.

What began as a small endeavor to uplift a few women has blossomed into a full production business. Looking forward, the workshop aims to expand its reach, providing more opportunities for 50 full-time artisans by 2035 while continuing to share God's love and hope.

Where work meets ministry

The Nehemiah House

A base for hosting guests and community events

Nehemiah House, situated on the Maria Naomi property, stands as a testament to God's provision and the generosity of donors. Purchased in 2014, this welcoming two-story space was specifically renovated for ministry use, fulfilling the opportunity to expand outreach efforts in Southern Romania.

Transformed into a hub for visiting mission teams, families, and individuals in need of temporary housing, Nehemiah House has hosted over 68 short-term and long-term volunteers over the years. This versatile space has hosted children's ministry events, offering local children a setting to encounter engaging Bible lessons and to experience God's love.

Beyond lodging and event space, the house plays a vital role in the daily rhythm of Maria Naomi's artisan workshop. Its kitchen serves as a daily gathering place for our artisans, fostering connection and camaraderie during shared meals.

Nehemiah House is positioned to grow its impact by hosting community programs and volunteers serving to meet our organization's goals, ensuring it remains a place of growth, hospitality, and hope for years to come.

Children’s programs

Reaching young hearts with the Gospel

Every summer, Maria Naomi brings the Gospel to life for hundreds of children in rural villages through Vacation Bible Schools. These programs are more than just a few days of fun—they are an opportunity for children in underserved communities to hear about the love of Christ, many for the first time.

Short-term mission teams from around the world play a pivotal role in making this possible. Over the past 15 years, families from eight different countries have come to serve, with many volunteers bringing their young children to participate together in ministry. This creates a beautiful picture of families serving families, modeling God’s love and unity in action.
The programs are tailored to meet the needs of each village, making every event a meaningful and memorable experience for the children and their families. Vacation Bible Schools serve as a bridge to unreached communities, opening doors for ongoing relationships and ministry. These events often spark interest among parents and other villagers, creating new opportunities to share the Gospel and grow local connections.
Maria Naomi’s Vacation Bible Schools continue to grow in impact and reach. With the support of mission teams and volunteers, we are committed to bringing hope to more children and families each year.
